Maya Character Rigging

I decided to give rigging a go myself to see if I could build a simple rig in Maya that I can animate with , without relying on Mixamo. Mo showed the class a fairly quick and effective way to rig in Maya by creating a HumanIK and control rig setup. The video below shows the process- 

I'm quite happy with how the rig performs. The only problem is that it has shown up the problems with the character from the modeling stage, mainly that the legs deform very unnaturally but they will be covered by clothing anyway so it shouldn't cause too much of a problem. 

The next stage in this process was that I had to paint some of the weights because they were off, especially on the right side. For some reason the entire right hand didn't have any weights so I had to go through each finger individually.
